Much to our disappointment FLW has decided to discontinue it’s involvement with saltwater fishing.

The news was unexpected and left alot of teams wondering about the future of the sport and what 2009 would look like without the FLW.
In our opinion the foundation of the sport is solid. With the IFA and the Redfish Cup continuing to lead the way, and the rumors of other highly reputable organizations ready to step up, the sport should only grow and flourish in the years to come. After all, it is the passion and drive of the anglers that will ensure the future of the sport.
To say we finished the 2008 season under the radar would be an understatement. The little things that can affect the outcome of a redfish tournament seemed to catch us on the negative side at every turn….. Good fish pulling hooks at the net, tails sweeping just beyond the 27 inch line, an arrant cast to a tailing fish… it always seeemed to be something! But, no excuses, we simply did not get it done when it counted for the last two tournaments. To go into detail of both tournaments here would be laborious and uneventful, so for now we will chalk it up to; “taking our lumps”, “paying our dues”, or ”being handed a dose of reality”. Regardless of what you call it , it will no doubt give us something to dwell on and fuel the competitive fire through the off season.

The team finished the year 62nd out of 154 teams in the FLW Western division team of the year, just missing an invite to the Championship, and 21st in team of the year race in the Louisiana division of the IFA. So, with decisive improvement from 2007 to 2008 we look forward to 2009 with confidence, excitement, and hope for what another year on tour will bring.
